Quality Control

Quality control in the tiles industry ensures tiles meet standards, specifications, and customer requirements through various tests and activities for consistent quality and functional tiles. We ensure transparency, satisfy customer needs, and enhance quality management for products and services. We adhere to ISO13006/EN 176 standards for product testing and quality control.

Quality Control Procedure

To ensure the quality of final products, inspection is carried out right from the incoming of raw materials to final outgoing products.

Shade Matching

Each product in our collection is initially matched with a master tile for color and surface in the design office before production begins to ensure consistency.

Whiteness Test

A whiteness test assesses surface lightness in porcelain tiles, ensuring quality control in manufacturing by measuring light reflectance properties related to perceived whiteness.

A whiteness meter, also called a colorimeter or spectrophotometer, assesses light reflection on porcelain tiles to maintain quality in industries relying on tile aesthetics like architecture and design.

Stain Test

Porcelain tiles are tested for stain resistance against various substances, crucial for maintaining their surface appeal and cleanliness in liquid-prone spaces.

Various common household substances are chosen to test tile surfaces, simulating real-life stain scenarios.

Thickness Test

In the ceramic tiles industry, the thickness test ensures tiles meet required thickness specifications. This is important because variations can cause impacting strength, durability, and installation. Manufacturers use the test to maintain quality.

Tiles Strength test

Flexural strength test assesses porcelain tiles resistance to bending, vital for structural integrity evaluation and practical application suitability, especially for floors and walls where bending forces are present, by loading the tile until it fractures, thereby determining its maximum load capacity.

Place the tile specimen on the bending fixture with the glazed surface up. Position support points under the tile at specific distances. Apply force gradually at a constant rate on the center of the tile. Continue until the tile fractures. Record the breaking point to determine the tile's maximum load capacity.

Water Absorption

We check tile absorption daily by heating it in water, cooling it, and then using the WA machine to measure water absorption. Porcelain tiles maintain WA under 0.05% and ceramic tiles maintain WA between.

Tile Glossiness Test

This test focuses on polished tiles, where maintaining glossiness above 95% is crucial. We regularly check and uphold glossiness during production.

Surface Check

After passing parameters, we lay tiles & inspect surface manually for flaws like pin holes, patches, kiln dust, etc., ensuring quality.
